Hang- and paragliding

Hang- and paragliding are permitted in the Faroe Islands, provided certain criteria are met. For example, flights are only allowed in the period between sunrise and sunset and flights must not be performed for commercial purposes.

Please make sure you read the rules and regulations concerning hang gliding and paragliding in the Faroe Islands before undertaking any such activity. Download a PDF version of the Regulations for Civil Aviation below.

Aviation rules and regulations in the Faroe Islands are overseen by the Danish Transport and Construction Agency. For more information about hang- and paragliding in the Faroe Islands, please visit the Danish Transport, Construction and Housing Authority’s website.
