Kári Sverrisson is a three time Nordic Council Music Prize nominee. Kári is one of the leading experts and performers of traditional Faroese music. Kári and his band Enekk were a main influence to a new wave of Faroese artists that appeared on the scene in the second half of the nineties and early 2000’s – such as Clickhaze, Eivør, Týr and others. Kári has had a remarkable impact on the Faroese music scene as a solo artist and with bands such as Enekk, Orka and Bendar Spónir, bringing new life to classic and modern poetry by artists such as J.H.O. Djurhuus and Jóannes Nielsen.
