“Klingra” means circle in Faroese, and the center is The Faroe Islands. Still Klingra has a radius that reaches to most of the Nordic countries. The band consists of seven established musicians from Denmark, Finland, Norway, Latvia and The Faroe Islands.
The music balances on a line between classical and popular music, with suble electronic elements into something which could be described as “indie-classical”
The ensemble Klingra is originated from the award winning band Afenginn, which recently released the album “Klingra”
In making the music for the album “Klingra”, Afenginn decided to cooperate with several faroese musicians. Since then the music has been perform on stages throughout the whole world, Australia, Russia, Europe and USA, and has been met with great excitement. Not least in here in the Faroe Islands, where Klingra won two Faroese music awards, for best album and best text.
This cooperation, between Afenginn and the Faroe Islands, was so interesting for both parties that they decided to form the band “Klingra”. And Klingra is now ready with brand new material which will be performed for the first time in the Nordic House on the 8 th of december.
