DIRECT FLIGHTS

The Faroe Islands are now even more easily accessible from the United States of America and Canada with direct flights by our national airline, Atlantic Airways and one-stop flights with Icelandair.

The national airline of the Faroe Islands, Atlantic Airways, operates non-stop flights to New York (Steward, SWF) usually from August until the end of September. Additionally, Icelandair started direct flights from several North American destinations via Keflavik and the Faroe Islands in the spring of 2024, making the Faroe Islands much more accessible from North America. SAS and Widerø also fly to the Faroe Islands. 
 

Atlantic additionally operates regularly from Reykjavik (Iceland), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Edinburgh (Scotland) to the Faroe Islands all year round, and SAS operates non-stop flights from Copenhagen all year round.

All of these destinations have non-stop flights from a host of cities in the USA and Canada, which means that getting to the Faroe Islands only requires one stop-over. In many cases, you can depart from cities in the USA and Canada and arrive in the Faroe Islands on the same day. It only takes one hour to fly directly from Reykjavik in Iceland or Edinburgh in Scotland to the Faroe Islands. Flights from Copenhagen are only two hours. Easier than you thought, right?
