“Light is a recurring presence in all of my work”

Until Wednesy, July 23rd, a new exhibition by Rannva Kunoy is on display at Steinprent in Tórshavn.

It has been 15 years since Rannva last held a solo exhibition in the Faroe Islands. In recent years, she has exhibited in the USA, Spain, South Korea, and London. In 2024, the publishing house Phletora released a special art book featuring a selection of her work.
In Kunoy’s distinctive painting practice, light, colour, and form shift depending on the viewer’s perspective. She does not paint light into her images – rather, the paintings are light. Light is a central theme in her work, offering a presence and depth that must be experienced, not merely described.
