What is a Piparstertur, you might ask?
According to the dictionary, "to sit on a piparstertur" is akin to "sitting on needles," and it also mentions: "on the piparstertur, unsettled and restless."

But Piparstertur is also the name of a young jazz fusion quintet! The group is comprised of Jákup Tórgarð, Djóni Fischer, Fríði Bjarkhamar, Benjamin Djurhuus, and Justin James Villanueva.

They play funky, edgy, groovy, and occasionally tender tunes that keep the audience on the edge of their seats. Shy yet bold, they find beauty in the notes left unplayed.

With a sound as juicy as fresh rice cakes and melodies as soothing as a gentle sea breeze, they create unexpected soundscapes you never knew you needed to hear.
