Here is an overview of frequently asked questions related to the annual Famshop.

1. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE OFFER?

The ticket with Atlantic Airways from one of their routes includes accommodation, transport, excursions, and meals throughout the Famshop days. An all-inclusive festive party will also be held on the final day. 

2. CAN WE BOOK SEVERAL SPOTS PER COMPANY?

We have a limited amount of buyers and suppliers and would like to give the same opportunity to as many companies as possible therefore we prefer to say only one buyer per company.

3. ARE THE MEETINGS DURING FAMSHOP FIXED?

We provide a small and intimate gathering setting for buyers and suppliers hence a more casual approach has been adopted and has proven to work well. So there are no prior meetings booked instead buyers mingle and take a seat with those suppliers they find relevant and interesting. A bell indicates meeting rotations every 12 minutes. 

4. WHAT KIND OF EXCURSIONS WILL THERE BE?

We provide an option between various excursions, which all differ in location, adventure, and physical demand but are all equally thrilling. Once you have chosen your excursion we cannot change it as spots are limited due to planning logistics and arrangements with suppliers are based on no. of participants. We recommend looking into each excursion as some will need specific requirements such as outerwear or form.  If you are two from the same agency then, unfortunately, it is not possible to choose the same excursion. 

5. CAN I JOIN THE PRE-TOUR?

We do reserve spots for first-time participants and one per company/agency so that everyone has a chance to experience the Faroe Islands through a guided lens. On the registration form, you simply specify interest in the pre-tour and each participant will be notified if they are chosen.  

6. HOW WILL I BE ACCOMMODATED?

All participants will stay at one of our partner hotels centred in the capital. The capital is relatively small in size so all shopping amenities, café or other will be close by, either on foot or a short ride away.  

7. HOW WILL I GET FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER?

Transport to and from the various venues will be provided with busses. 

8. WHAT TYPE OF CLOTHES SHOULD I BRING?

We recommend casual wear, one fancy outfit, a comfortable sweater, a rainproof coat, and trousers, as well as sturdy walking shoes or rubber boots for the excursions. And don't forget those dancing shoes for the final party. 

9. WHAT LANGUAGE WILL BE USED DURING FAMSHOP?

All communication will be in English, but you might learn some Faroese words on the informative excursions.

10. WILL THERE BE ANY FREE TIME?

There will be free time in the evenings. Should you wish to see more of the islands, you are welcome to book your flights/accommodation to stay some extra nights. We recommend you sample one of our exquisite restaurants focusing on local fresh produce, come sit, relax and share a plate or a brew with the locals. You might even be so lucky to hear an old Norse tale or two. 

11. CAN ANYONE REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE?

Yes, however, due to a limited amount of available slots, Visit Faroe Islands reserves the right to choose which companies will attend the event. It will be based on, among other things, how relevant the company’s market is to the Faroe Islands’ overall tourism strategy. Companies that have not previously attended the workshop will be prioritised.

12. HOW WILL IT ALL END?

All participants will be invited to a big celebratory party on the final evening with free food, drinks, and entertainment.
