CAMPING

There's no better way to explore a new country and its culture than camping. Waking up to the sounds of nature is simply priceless. So, pack your bags, grab your tent or RV, and get ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure.

Camping has become increasingly popular in the Faroe Islands in recent years, with over 20 campsites now available nationwide. These campsites can be found from the capital to almost every island, including smaller ones like Mykines, Kallsoy, and Fugloy. However, it's important to note that camping is only permitted at designated campsites, as there are no public wilderness areas or common spaces in the Faroes. Additionally, spending the night in camping cars along roads, at rest stops, laybys, or viewpoints is not allowed.

It's worth noting that certain campsites are designated for tents only, while others are exclusively for RVs.

Because the Faroese weather is unpredictable, sturdy, waterproof, and windproof equipment is advisable.

Please respect camping regulations in the Faroe Islands. Signs like the one above are posted at various locations on the island.
