Treat your ears to delightful Christmas music

Come and treat your ears to delightful Christmas music from five of the finest female singers the Faroe Islands offer.

Jasmin Mote (Jazzygold), Marianna W. Nagata (Marianna Winter), Dania O. Tausen, Katrina Olsen (Katari), and Anna Sofía Skoradal (Gówa) + SWAY have become a staple on many people's Christmas calendar with their outstanding Christmas show JÓLASOUL! And 2024 is no exception — but with a twist. For the first time, we experience this extraordinary Christmas spirit that only they can conjure up right here in Eiði.

This year's concert is extra special because it’s the release concert for a brand-new Faroese Christmas album that the women behind Jólasoul have produced.

Jasmin, Marianna, Dania, Katrina, and Anna Sofía (originally Tamara Mneney) have organized their own Christmas concert under the title Jólasoul for the past four years, performing to sold-out crowds at both Reinsaríið and the Nordic House.

These women are among the top singers in the Faroe Islands right now, with countless different musical projects under their names and in various groups. The strength of Jólasoul lies in the diversity that each of them brings and how beautifully that diversity plays together on stage and in the soundscape. They perform their arrangements and interpretations of all kinds of Christmas songs in Faroese, Norwegian, English, Danish, and Icelandic, and they put a lot of effort into choir arrangements for the various songs.

They will be accompanied by a house band featuring renowned musicians Vár Miðberg (drums), Karl Andrias Stórá (bass), Kristian Pauli Ellefsen (piano), Vinjar Egilsnes Petersen (synth), and Ari Johannesen (guitar). A group that radiates joy, creativity, unity, and quality.

Jólasoul concerts have been highly praised over the years, with audiences describing them as fun, vulnerable, stylish, full of girl-power, and, last but not least, just what’s needed to get into the Christmas spirit.

Sunnuva Bæk organizes the concert in Eiði in collaboration with Eiði Municipality and with support from Økistónum.
