Málkafé is an informal drop-in language café run by Red Cross volunteers.

The Red Cross Málkafé is an informal drop-in language café where internationals living in the Faroe Islands can practise Faroese with Red Cross volunteers. Drop-in means that everyone can come and go as they please. We understand that people are very busy, so it's possible to pop by for as long or as short as people prefer.

In Tórshavn, Málkafé / Language Café is every Wednesday between 17.00 – 19.00 at the ground floor of Býarbókasavnið.

Málkafé is a free, recurring event which first started in September 2022. Volunteers use various ways to help practise Faroese, for example by speaking, reading, playing games and doing other activities.

At Málkafé one can get at a free warm drink, juice and a sweet snack, meet new people and practise Faroese. Our volunteers keep children company while the adults practise their Faroese skills.
