Terji Rasmussen

Concert in Varpið

One of our most beloved singers and songwriters of the past many decades, Terji Rasmussen, has – now that we are in 2025 – gathered his soldiers and invites the people of the Faroe Islands to a concert in May. And on Friday, May 30th, during Norðoyastevna, a concert will take place at Varpið in Klaksvík.

This will be a special event, as Terji and his band will not only perform songs from his long career spanning the past century but also play tracks released in the 2020s.

It is rare to hear Terji performing with a band under his own name, so we can expect a diverse selection of songs representing an entire generation.

Most of us know Terji from his work with Reyna Frensin in Føstufressa, as well as from Frændur, Moirae, and collaborations with Eyðun Nolsøe and Kim Hansen.

In recent years, Terji has been the driving force behind the concert venue Maggies in Nólsoy. At the same time, he has run a studio where several albums have been recorded, including his own songs. In the 2020s, Terji has released tracks such as So sigst, Bla bla bla, Marianna, and Minnini mynna meg, all of which have received significant airplay on the radio and social media.

Terji is also currently releasing a new song titled Ophelia.

The very same musicians who have played on his latest songs will be joining him on this tour. These are some of the Faroe Islands' most experienced and talented musicians. In addition to Terji on vocals and guitar, the band includes Josva Debes on drums, Jóhannus á Rógvu Joensen on bass, Kim Hansen on piano, and Terji’s son, Fríði Bjørgvin, on electric guitar. The sound is handled by Jónas Bloch Danielsen.

Alongside the new songs from this decade, Terji promises countless classic favorites, performing songs from as far back as the early 80s up to the present day.
