CLOSER THAN YOU THINK
Getting to the Faroe Islands is easy. Despite it’s seemingly remote location, the Faroe Islands is much closer than you might think.
The islands are just a two to three hour flight from continental Europe. The national airline, Atlantic Airways, operates from the France, UK, Iceland, Norway and Denmark to the Faroese airport in Vágar. There are several daily flights from Copenhagen with Atlantic Airways and also SAS. Atlantic Airways also has direct flights from Paris to the Faroe Islands twice a week from May to October. Norwegian airline, Widerøe, has between two and four weekly flights between Norway and the Faroe Islands.
Smyril Line’s ferry, M/S Norröna, sails to the Faroe Islands from Hirtshals in the north of Denmark and from Seyðisfjørður in Iceland. Frequency of departures varies according to season.
