The traditional row to Víkarbyrgi

Once again this year, the old traditional boats will take to the water, they will be launched on Sunday.

⏰ The event begins at 9:00 AM at Garðabrúgv, where the Salvation Army will hold a short devotional before everyone boards the boats.
🚣 At around 9:30 AM, the row to Víkarbyrgi begins, with an estimated duration of about two hours.
🛥️ All motorboats are warmly welcome to join the old boats on the journey to Víkarbyrgi.

🎶 Around midday, once the boats have arrived in Víkarbyrgi, there will be hymn singing and a devotional led by a priest. Everyone is warmly invited to come to Víkarbyrgi for a pleasant and meaningful gathering.
☕ The boat crews and visitors will be offered light refreshments, and visitors are welcome to bring along a packed lunch, a drink, and a hymnal.

⏳ The whaleboats are expected to return to Vágur at approximately 4:00 PM.

👥 The boats are typically crewed by their owners, but if any boat is not fully manned for the trip, others are welcome to join. You can sign up for the waiting list by emailing info@vagur.fo, and it will be first come, first served. Those on the list will be notified about available spots on Friday afternoon.

In the days leading up to Sunday, the whaleboats will be on display at Garðabrúgv, and the public is very welcome to come by and take a look at them.
