With pick-up in Tórshavn, we head to Gamlarætt ferry port, where we meet the experienced RIB-boat captains. From there, we set off by boat across the sea and along the dramatic west coast of Hestur.

Our journey begins at the towering bird cliffs of Hestur, facing the open Atlantic Ocean. Here, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the stunning scenery and watch thousands of seabirds soaring above.

Klæmintsgjógv – World’s Largest Sea Cave
We then make our way to Klæmintsgjógv — a colossal sea grotto carved by nature over millions of years. Several small tunnels belong to the cave system, and the tour explores several of them. In 2024, it was officially recognized as the largest sea cave in the world, measuring an astonishing 348,000 cubic meters.

Concerto Grotto
As we enter the cave, silence sets in, and the high basalt walls become the backdrop for a truly unforgettable performance. The acoustics inside the cave offer up to 12 seconds of echo — a dream for any musician. A live solo performance, typically by trumpet or saxophone, fills the space with haunting, beautiful sound. The musicians are trained specifically for the cave’s unique setting and know how to use the acoustics to their fullest, creating a powerful, immersive experience.
