Wednesday, 15 July – A Day of Creativity and Nature
Wednesday, 15 July will be a day full of creativity, fun, and memorable moments in nature for children and families. Let's make this summer even more beautiful together!
Programme
10:00–12:00 – Paint Your Own Flower
Workshop for children aged 10–12.
Learn simple painting techniques and create your own painting of a Faroese summer flower. The workshop is led by Durid Færø and Margretha N. Hansen and takes place in the arts and crafts room at Skúlatrøð School.
Participation is limited. Free tickets are available at www.atgongumerki.fo.
12:00–14:00 – Plant Your Own Angelica
Workshop for children of all ages.
Learn how to plant Faroese angelica (hveiti) in a pot and hear about how this traditional plant was used in the Faroe Islands in earlier times. Please bring your own flower pot or container. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult who can assist with planting.
Led by Hjørdis Havarsá.
Meeting point: The steps outside the main entrance of Skúlatrøð School.

14:00–16:00 – Make Your Own Floral Decoration
Workshop for children of all ages.
Join us for a short walk and learn how to make flower crowns and floral necklaces using fresh plants and flowers collected along the way. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult to help weave the flowers together.
Led by Ragnhild Ellingsgaard.
Meeting point: The steps outside Varpið.

14:00–18:00 – Vote for the Best Flower Cake
Visit Varpið to admire all the entries in the "Sweet Flower" Cake Competition.
A judging panel will choose the cake with the best taste, while all visitors can vote for the most beautiful cake. The winner will be announced during the children's sing-along in the park at Grøv at 18:00.
The judging panel consists of Olevina Sundsskarð, pastry chef at Marietta, and Beinta Á. Gregersen, manager of Húsið.
16:00–18:00 – Flower Hunt Around Klaksvík
Treasure hunt for children of all ages.
Solve fun challenges around town while learning more about the local environment. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Flower Hunt starts on the steps outside Varpið.

18:00–19:00 – Children's Sing-Along
Join us in the park at Grøv, where Steintór Rasmussen and friends invite everyone to an enjoyable sing-along featuring well-known children's songs.
The barbecue grills will be lit, and everyone is welcome to bring their own food to cook and enjoy.
