About the album, Lea says:
"It was a few days before Christmas Eve in 2022. The snow lay like a heavy blanket over Hoydalar. Teitur and I sat in the recording studio in Hjallinum at the old Sanatorium, watching the snowflakes settle on the panes, roofs, and branches around us. I was on sick leave with stress from the conservatory in Copenhagen, and I was dizzy and exhausted all the time, even when I was lying in bed. But on this December day, Teitur and I decided to create an album that was a rebellion against the speed that dominates today. An inner rebellion against the idea that you have to run as fast as everyone else, even if it doesn't feel right. I knew the only thing that would make me well was allowing myself to live, write, and sing in slow motion. I dare to let the walls I had built around me fall and to dare to be myself in the language I said 'I love you' in for the first time.
Most of the songs on the album are about lost love, growing love, and memories of a love that once was. Teitur Lassen, who also produced the album, wrote the songs. Everything on the album is played and sung softly on acoustic guitars, strings, and woodwinds. Recording and creating this album was like being inside a Spanish guitar, far away from screens and noise.
