On Saturday, November 29, the Old Klakksvík Shop will reopen – and with it, the Christmas spirit truly begins! 🎄🌟🎁
The Christmas event “Christmas in the Old Klakksvík Shop” gives you an (re)experience of the Klakksvík Shop as it looked in the 1960s. Here you’ll find a shop, a pharmacy, an office, a living room, and a post office – all created with great care and attention so the experience feels as authentic as possible, giving you a sense of what life was like in earlier days.
This is not a regular exhibition – this is living history, where you truly experience the Christmas spirit as it once was.
For comparison, one can mention Den Gamle By in Aarhus, which every year attracts visitors from all over the world with its Christmas experience.
Only two pharmacies of this kind remain in the entire kingdom – one in Den Gamle By, and the other right here with us in Klaksvík.
Opening hours are every weekend in December up until Christmas, plus one day between Christmas and New Year:
