The hike to Hellurnar starts in Fuglafjørður, either from the charming central park or from historic Ribarhús with its handicraft shop and café. This path is a gentle slope along the river up to the pass. From here, take the detour to Altarið (483m), the Altar offering a stunning view of Kalsoy.
The village path continues from the pass, past the hidden people’s mounds, and ends in a steep descent on an ancient stone path near Hellurnar. Explore the peaceful village before following the path along the shore to Oyndarfjørður.
On your return, stroll through town, visiting local shops for souvenirs, coffee and ice cream, or a meal at Restaurant Muntra.
