Port of Honour

  • Port of Honour in Nólsoy

Discover the Port of Honour in Nólsoy—a majestic 25-meter whale jaw landmark in the village harbor, rich in history and charm.

In the small harbour in the village center, you can find the Gate of Honor. This is the jaw from a 25 metre large whale, that was erected by the seaside in 1907, when danish King Frederic VII visited. In 1975 it was moved to Hoygarðin, where it is today and has become an icon of the village.
