Spinnaríið
Discover Spinnaríið, the House of Faroese Wool, showcasing rich wool spinning history, workshops, and unique Faroese wool crafts.
A modern mini mill displaying the history of Faroese wool spinning and the excellence of Faroese wool design.
Spinnaríið in Klaksvík is a modern mini mill in the making displaying the Faroese history of industrial wool spinning and offering workshops in making yarn with Faroese wool.
The Faroese sheep breed is double-coated with a fine, soft inner coat (rót) and a rougher, long-haired outer coat (broddur). The fleece is rich in lanolin making it almost water-proof and perfect for the Faroese weather.
At Spinnaríið you can see the different stages of processed Faroese wool and you can get a hands-on experience with the process of felting, spinning and other woolly crafts.

Entrance fee 50,- DKK
Included in the entrance fee: Visit the premises, see our activities, experience the Faroese wool, try out our gear, hear the story of the two historic spinning mills in Klaksvík and have some coffee - and free wifi.
