The church of Fuglafjordur
A modern church centrally located near the park
The church of Fuglafjørður is situated in the centre of town, next to the cemetary on one side and the cozy central park on the other side. The central park is used for the annual Whit Monday outdoor service.
The church is one of the new churches in the Faroe Islands, by the Danish architect Holger Jensen. It is modern, open and Nordic in style, and has a magnificent organ and very good acoustics. The church was consecrated on Whitsun 1984.
