Located by the harbour in Vágur, just outside the old Tanga Factory, Vesturgarður and Knit by Iris share a cosy showroom dedicated to Faroese knitwear with a contemporary twist.

Behind Vesturgarður are Barbara Vestgaard and Marita Vestergaard í Lágabø – the founders of a local cottage factory where traditional methods meet modern design. Every step of the process happens on-site, from sorting and washing the wool to spinning and knitting. The result is handcrafted pieces that honour Faroese heritage while embracing sustainable “slow fashion.” No two items are alike.
