HOTELS

Hotels in the Faroe Islands exist in various shapes and sizes on most islands. Something for every level of comfort and budget is available, ranging from luxurious 4-star to comfortable and simple lodgings. There are no 5-star hotels, however. There is simply not enough demand for them.

The vast majority are located in the capital, Tórshavn. Two new 4-star hotels opened in 2020; Hotel Brandan and Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands. which has doubled the bedroom capacity in the capital. Other 4-star options in Tórshavn include Hotel Føroyar, which is located on a hill overlooking the city, and Hotel Hafnia, located in the city centre. There are also 2/3-star options in the city centre, including 62N Hotel City Centre, Hotel Tórshavn, Havgrím Seaside Hotel, and Hotel Djurhuus.

Hotel accommodation is also found outside the capital in most parts of the country. Locations include Runavík (Eysturoy), Vágar Airport (Vágar), Klaksvík (Borðoy), Vágur (Suðuroy), and Tvøroyri (Suðuroy).

Please note that many of the hotels in the towns and villages, where the population is small, offer limited bedroom capacity. If you want to find accommodation for groups outside of Tórshavn, the capital, please contact the regional information centre in your desired region. The regional information centres will assist in finding the best option.

BOOK HOTELS EARLY

Under normal circumstances, many hotels are fully booked during the summer. Therefore, it is a good idea to book your stay as quickly as possible, especially if you are visiting between May and August when demand is the highest. Book rooms by visiting each hotel’s website.
