Bingja is a fresh collaboration between renowned composer and pianist Kristian Blak and electronic musician Lasse Jæger.

The duo is teaming up with musician Jón Klæmint Hofgaard for two international performances in late May: at the Faroe House in Copenhagen and at Jack’s Piano Bar in Bucharest on May 22. Following these dates, the group will bring the project home to Blábar in Tórshavn on June 25, featuring material developed during their travels.

Bingja explores the relationship between "import and export" within the Faroese musical landscape. Drawing inspiration from silent film scores and benshi (the Japanese tradition of live film narration), these accomplished musicians will present an alternative, audiovisual portrait of the Faroe Islands to international audiences.

About the Artists:

Kristian Blak is a cornerstone of Faroese music; a composer, pianist, record label director, and tireless music organizer.

Lasse Jæger is an electronic composer and audiovisual artist, well-known as the frontman for the "Havnartekno" project Supervisjón.

Jón Klæmint Hofgaard is a member of Tweed & Hyenas and the improv group Rutger Hauser, contributing vocals, guitar, and drums. He also runs his own micro-label, The Lumen Lake.
