Boat trip to Hestur with live music inside the world’s largest sea cave

Join a small group for a truly unique experience - a live concert inside the world’s largest sea cave.

With pick-up in Tórshavn, the journey begins towards Gamlarætt ferry port, where experienced RIB-boat captains await. From here, the tour continues by boat along the dramatic west coast of Hestur.

Along the way, you will visit Hestur’s impressive bird cliffs facing the open Atlantic Ocean. Thousands of seabirds circle above as you take in the powerful scenery and raw nature.

The highlight of the journey is Klæmintsgjógv - a vast sea grotto shaped over millions of years. Recognised in 2024 as the world’s largest sea cave, it measures an astonishing 278,000 cubic metres. The cave system includes several tunnels, which are explored during the tour.

Inside the cave, the atmosphere shifts. Surrounded by towering basalt walls, you will experience a live solo performance, often by trumpet or saxophone. The cave’s extraordinary acoustics - with echoes lasting up to 12 seconds - transform the music into a powerful and immersive soundscape.

This is more than a boat trip. It is a rare combination of Faroese nature and live music, creating a memorable and intimate experience. With limited group sizes, you can fully connect with both the surroundings and the performance.

Important information:
The tour requires a minimum of 8 participants in total. Bookings are welcome from individuals, couples, or groups, but the tour will only be confirmed once enough participants have signed up. If the minimum is not reached, guests will be informed in advance and offered alternatives.

In case of unfavourable weather, the route may be adjusted to explore the caves and sea cliffs on the east side of Nólsoy.
