The biography of SANNU DAHL was written by the father-and-son duo Martin and Flóvin Þór Nygaard Næs.

The story is about the girl from Vágur who trained as a doctor in the first half of the 20th century and who later helped develop the Faroese hospital system as the first Faroese radiologist.

The book about Sanna is also a portrayal of how Faroese society has developed over the past hundred years, in terms of culture, education, transport options, the hospital system, and technology.

The story is spiced with personal accounts, including tense situations abroad during the Second World War and rough trips on a doctor’s boat in the Northern Isles.
