BÓKADAGAR 2025: Illustration Workshop for Adults

Do you have an illustrator hidden inside you?
Are you perhaps already a graphic designer or an artist, or do you enjoy drawing and painting in your free time?Here’s your chance to learn and experience what it’s like to illustrate and tell stories through images together with illustrator Hans Jacob Østerø.
Hans Jacob Østerø holds a degree in multimedia design and works as a freelance illustrator.He has illustrated the popular picture book Svansi-Bob by Joan Waag Høgnesen, as well as the cover and advent story by Silja Aldudóttir in Míni jólabók 2024.
In this workshop – open to both experienced and beginner illustrators – Hans Jacob will give a talk about his work and experiences as an illustrator.He will also discuss how to create and develop stories and characters through images.
After the talk, you’ll have the opportunity to create your own illustrations with guidance from Hans Jacob.
Paper and drawing materials will be provided, but you’re also welcome to bring your own computer or tablet for digital drawing if you prefer.
The workshop takes place on Saturday, 15 November, and participants are also welcome to return on Sunday, 16 November, to wrap up and take part in the open children’s illustration workshop, which Hans Jacob will also be leading.
