Hotels
Hotels in various shapes and sizes are found on most islands in the Faroe Islands, ranging from luxurious 4-star hotels to comfortable and simple lodgings. There are no 5-star hotels, however. There is simply not enough demand for them.
The vast majority of hotels are located in the capital, Tórshavn. Other locations include Runavík, Skálavík, Vágar Airport, Klaksvík, Vágur, and Tvøroyri.
Many of the hotels in the smaller towns and villages, where the population is sometimes only a few dozen people, are small. If you want to find accommodation for groups outside of Tórshavn, the capital, please contact the regional information centre in your desired region. The regional information centres will assist in finding the best option.
Book hotels early
Many hotels are fully booked during the summer. It is, therefore, a good idea to book your hotel stay as quickly as possible, especially if you are visiting between May and August.
The newest hotel in the Faroe Islands is a city hotel in Tórshavn, the capital, called Hotel Brandan. It opened in the summer of 2020 and is classified as a 4-star, superior hotel, as until now, the only hotel with this classification.
