Concert with Flytifólk at Ovasavnið in Nólsoy

Flytifólk is:
Daniel Rye (clarinet), Anna Hüdepohl (accordion), Torleik Mortensen (double bass), James Goodwin (percussion).

Flytifólk is a group with four musicians, all of whom have moved to the Faroe Islands from respectively Britain, Germany, and Denmark. They play music that characterizes the traveling musician, such as Klezmer music from Eastern Europe, wedding music from the Balkans, and songs by wandering Romani gypsies. This music highlights how cultures have met and influenced each other long before the modern globalized world developed. At the concert, we will also hear new songs written by members of the group.
