These recipes highlight Faroese fish and promote sustainability by encouraging the use of sheep giblets alongside traditional lamb meat. They also emphasize the importance of supporting local sheep and vegetable farming, fostering a stronger connection to Faroese agriculture and helping sustain the local food economy.

Most ingredients and recipes are available at the monthly local food market in Tórshavn. The recipes were developed by Faroese chefs and others dedicated to maintaining and evolving Faroese food culture in collaboration with Visit Faroe Islands, Búnaðargrunnurin, Matkovin, Húsarhaldsskúli Føroya and Faroese Seafood.
