Cultural Evenings at Gjáargarður
During the summer months, there will be fascinating Cultural Evenings at Gjáargarður. These events will occur every Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to around 8:30 PM in June, July, and August. The host will welcome guests with a large buffet featuring a variety of delicious dishes and Faroese delicacies. After the meal, there will be live music, part of the extensive Summartónar program, featuring different musical groups each evening.

After the music, guests will receive information about the Faroese dance and traditional ballads. They can learn the steps, join the ring, and sing well-known ballads. The evening will conclude around 8:30 PM.

Sisters Monika Stauss Joensen, violin, and Andrea Stauss Hofmann, organ and piano, originally hail from Switzerland. Monika has lived in the Faroe Islands for many years, working as a violin teacher at the music school, playing in the Faroese Symphony Orchestra, and being an active chamber musician. Andrea lives in Switzerland, where she works as an organist in various churches and is an active chamber musician. Each year, they perform in various locations in Switzerland.
