Monika S. Joensen & Andrea S. Hofmann (FO/CH)

Monika, a violinist, and organist Andrea are sisters originally from Switzerland

Monika Stauss Joensen, a violinist, and organist Andrea Stauss Hofmann are sisters originally from Switzerland. Monika has lived in the Faroe Islands for many years, working as a violin teacher within the music school system, playing in the Faroese Symphony Orchestra, and being an active chamber musician. Concert tours have taken Monika to various countries such as Italy, France, and the USA. Her sister Andrea lives in Switzerland, where she works as an organist in various churches and is also an active chamber musician. Monika and Andrea started playing the violin and piano at the ages of seven and eight. Just four years later, they captivated audiences at the "Yecklin Competition" in chamber music in Zurich.
